Reporting to the VP Platform Science Operations and Chief of Staff, the Project Manager will primarily work closely with R&D and Precision Medicine team leaders on specific projects. The Project Manager will ensure optimal execution against the plan and consistency with BERG’s drug development processes. This requires an understanding of both scientific and management issues, as well as efficient resource utilization. In addition, the Project Manager will work with the teams to track their progress. The Project Manager will manage the databases and trackers and ensure that they are always updated. The Project Manager will manage appropriate CRO relations, as well as, maintain a tracking system within Netsuite for budget management.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with key strategic alliance partners (CRO and others) and ensure a proper liaison with R&D and Precision Medicine Team Leaders
  • Ensure all project timelines are up to date by creating and maintaining integrated cross-functional project timeline documents
  • Communicate changes to the approved plan to the other parties involved in the project
  • Prepare internal team documents (meeting minutes, RFA, CDA…) pertinent to project activities
  • Author development plans and regular reports
  • Be the contact person to track project-based expenditure within Netsuite
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Requires a BS/MS in biology/biotechnology sciences, biochemistry or related discipline with 5+ years’ industry-relevant experience
  • Project management classes, certification, or PMP status is strongly recommended
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively cooperate and collaborate with external partners
  • Demonstrates the ability to build relationships, influence, negotiate, and drive organizational engagement
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to the changing needs of the organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication is needed
